The Magnetic Leader

The Five Phrases Blocking Your Potential (And Why I Never Say Them)

Lisa Jeffs Season 4 Episode 17

Send a text with a question you want answered on a podcast episode!!

Our external reality mirrors our internal landscape, revealing the limitations and beliefs we hold within ourselves. By becoming aware of the language that signals our unconscious boundaries, we can challenge these inherited beliefs and open ourselves to greater possibilities.

• Everything externally is mirroring what's happening internally
• Our limitations are revealed through our language patterns
• Most limitations come from collective consciousness beliefs we've never questioned
• Awakening happens when we realize these limitations aren't absolute truths
• Five phrases to eliminate: "I can't afford it," "I can't," "it's too hard," "it will take too long," and concerns about others' judgments
• Replacing "I can't afford it" with "how can I make this happen?" opens possibilities
• Using "I won't" instead of "I can't" acknowledges choice rather than limitation
• Ask "who or what will make this easier?" instead of declaring something "too hard"
• Time passes regardless—invest it in what matters rather than avoiding what "takes too long"
• Going against others' expectations allows us to express our authentic selves
• Challenge limiting beliefs by asking "Is this actually true? Is this a truth I want to live by?"
• Internal changes must precede external changes

Speaker 2:

Welcome to the show leaders Today's episode. I'm going to go through a few things that I never say, because I have the awareness and the understanding that everything externally that's happening to us, the opportunities that we are attracting, the results that we see, are all connected to the story and the standards and the limitations that we are experiencing internally. Everything is a mirror. Basically, to keep it simple, everything externally is mirroring what's going on internally. So part of my work as a coach is to become acutely aware of the limitations that people hold within them, and we can always understand what these limitations are through the way people communicate, and everyone on the planet has different limitations, but when a person has been living their life, you know they've just gone through a normal experience, you know growing up in a household, going to school, etc. Etc. But they've never questioned anything then a lot of those limitations are typical collective consciousness limitations. I'll give you an example. So yesterday my daughter and I were watching a dating I think it was one of the love shows, we love those shows and one of the women it was really interesting I think it was Married at First Sight. We were watching and one of the women basically told her partner you have too many dreams. You have too many dreams and it's not realistic. Your dreams aren't realistic. The funny, the interesting thing, was the dreams he shared were very realistic, like they weren't even quote, unquote from my perspective big dreams at all. They were more. He was sharing goals that he wanted to achieve, which is great, which is amazing. But her perspective none of this was going to be possible. And really, when she was sharing this and she was communicating from my perspective it really looked like she was just regurgitating certain things that she heard growing up. So I'm sure she heard these things being spoken in her household and she's, just as children do, taking them on as her own beliefs. And if she's never questioned them, then that is her reality. And life has an amazing way of mirroring back to us what our beliefs are, what our limitations are, and it's our responsibility to change those things responsibility to change those things or continue living them.

Speaker 2:

Most people on this planet not you, because you're listening to this podcast, but most people on the planet aren't aware of their limitations. They've just subscribed to them as being true, something that just that's just the way life is. That's just the way it is. I was once there and until we have an awakening. And you know, for my, my awakening was a spontaneous awakening. I literally my awakening got triggered from a book I was reading and the very next day I just started walking around the planet just being like, why is nobody? People need to know this information. This whole planet is malleable. We can change anything. It's not this box that we've been told that, it is these restrictions. It was really funny and that feeling lasted for a while until it kind of settled down.

Speaker 2:

But I digress, going back to the initial topic. Everything is a mirror. So we got to question our limitations. So me being a coach, I'm very acutely aware of people's language that they're using. I'm very acutely aware of people's language that they're using and I can use that to highlight and mirror back to people the limitations. Because once we start questioning the limitations and we start to challenge them, they no longer become an unconscious pattern.

Speaker 2:

But if we choose to continue living those limitations, then it's a choice. And then we got to do the deeper work of why are we actually choosing this? And that's a lot of the deeper work that I do with my private clients or even in MLA, the Magnetic Leadership Accelerator. So I want to go through a couple of things that I never say because it's just a limitation. I never say because it's just a limitation and I am choosing not to live through limitations. That doesn't mean I don't have my own. This is why I work with my own coaches, because we have blind spots. So it's really, really important, if you have a desire to live to your full potential, to live to your full potential, to experience life at the fullest capacity that you can experience it, to always be working with coaches or mentors or people that can mirror back to you your blind spots, because as we grow, we continue to hit new blind spots. But here are some of the things that I already am aware were my blind spots at one time, and I no longer say ever.

Speaker 2:

So. I no longer say I can't afford it. You are putting up a block. You're basically saying to existence that this is not for me, that I can't have this, that I am not a match for this, and it doesn't matter how much you have in the bank, it doesn't matter how many, how many credit cards you have. This is has nothing to do with your ability to create in your reality. It doesn't matter what is present currently. Everything that is present currently is a reflection of the past. That is present currently is a reflection of the past. So I can't afford it. You are basically telling yourself that nothing is going to change in my reality. I'm not open to change. I am only open to seeing what is right in front of me.

Speaker 2:

And if that's not what you want, if you want something, if you're looking at something, if you're desiring something, that desire is being brought into your life because it is possible to you. We are born creators. We are here to create. Desire is the seed of creation. So when we have those feelings, those are seeds from God, from source, from universe. Whatever you resonate with, whatever you resonate with. This is part of why we are here to expand. We are not meant to stay in a contractive state I Can't Afford. It is contraction. It's based in lack and limitations. I know that I am here to grow and expand and continue to push the boundaries and push the edges of my limitations. This is how we grow. This is how we do that deeper soul work.

Speaker 2:

So I always ask the question. I really first. I really like this. It feels good. It feels good in my body, it feels expansive, it feels exciting. And then I start asking questions how can I make this happen? Who do I need to speak to that's going to help me reach this next milestone or this next goal or this next goal, or what are my options to make this happen? You see how that opens the door. It continues to expand. We're not putting up a roadblock and saying I can't, I can't have this, I can't afford this. How can you ever open the door to more receiving more, if you don't let go of those limitations? In the 3D reality, we are much more than this, right.

Speaker 2:

So I never say, I never say it doesn't matter how much it is, I don't care if it's $10 billion, it's something that I want and it feels good in my body and it feels right, feels expansive, it feels exciting. I know that that's an option for me. So my job as a creator is to start asking the questions what is the next step? And then I let it go. I don't ruminate on it, I don't get frustrated with it, I don't try to figure it out. I allow space for the next step, the information to come, and I know I'm making it sound very simplified. It actually is very simple. It's our brain. That complicates it. That's a whole nother episode. But we have to start opening the door. And that goes into the next thing that I never say.

Speaker 2:

I never say I can't. I never say I can't. What is I can't? Again, it's a limitation. Sometimes I'll say I won't because I don't want to do something. That's a whole different energy. I won't, that's me taking responsibility first or it's stating a boundary, but I can't. That means I'm believing in some kind of restriction, I'm believing in some kind of limitation. So you can ask the question what's the path of least resistance to move forward on this? If it's something that you want to do, if it's something that you don't want to do, then you say I won't. That's you honoring your boundaries.

Speaker 2:

Another thing that I never say is it's too hard. Then you are agreeing that something you are incapable of doing. Oh, I want to do this, but it's too hard. Who says it's too hard? That's just you agreeing that your ego mind and your ego mind is going to bring up all limitations, all terrible what-if scenarios. Often it's actually easier than we think it's going to be. So I never say it's too hard. If it's something that I want to do, I ask the question who or what will make this easier for me? Who or what will make this easier for me? I'm really great. I've always been pretty good at finding resources and I've realized over the year that this is a skill that's lacking in a lot of people. A simple act of knowing what to Google is really a skill. You can find so many resources by plugging in the right things in Google, and now we have AI, it's really really easy to make things easier on yourself. It's first getting into the energy of how can I make this easier. That there are resources out there, that it's too hard is just a limitation, or it's you putting up a barrier on something that you don't actually want to do? So, instead of saying to yourself I don't want to do this, you say it's too hard, and that's a whole nother pattern we got to look at.

Speaker 2:

Another thing that I never say is it will take too long. A lot of good things take a long time, but again, how do we know how long it's going to take? And also, time is going to go by anyway. You might as well be putting your time and effort into something that you want. A lot of times, people want instant gratification, or they want the instant result. Time is going to go by anyways, so what are you going to spend it on? So it's going to take too long. Why does that matter? So that one is about questioning why do you care? Why do you care how long it takes if you're going to get to the same result? Oh, because I want it right now. Well, why do you want it right now? Oh, because I want to.

Speaker 2:

You know, feel like this, feel like this, feel like this. It's always about feeling something right. We want something, we want something right away because we think it's going to make us feel a certain way. Well, you can make yourself feel like that. Now Tune into that frequency. This is why we use the power of visualization. This is a big part of the magnetic leadership accelerator Tuning into your vision. Understand, first creating the vision, aligning to the vision and then tuning into it. So we are in that energy, we are in that frequency every day. There's no need for it. We don't need something to feel a certain way. We already can tune into that feeling, that energy of it's already done. And, funny enough, that closes the gap and allows you to experience in the physical what you think is going to take a long time.

Speaker 2:

And here's the last one that I never say, it's never a part of my decision making, making that someone else doesn't want me to or will judge me for something. And this is a really common limitation people fall into and I believe that for me personally, this has never been an issue for me and I believe that you know, I kind of scripted this into my life of it never being an issue so I can help other people with it. Because other people have a big, big problem with going against the grain or going against what their family agrees upon or wants them to do or thinks is right, or their friend group or society wants them to do or thinks is right, or their friend group or society. And for me, I've always been the one to. I always want to go against the grain. I don't like going doing what other people are doing. I enjoy being the odd one out.

Speaker 2:

And again, I believe that I have this part of my personality to instill in others, to instill in my community, to instill in my clients, because the fear of going against, which is a primal fear right, it's part of our survival mechanism to be a part of the community to not go against the grain, because at one point in our existence, if we did that, we would be outcasted right, and we could literally die because we wouldn't have the resources of the community. So it is a very ingrained need, but at this point in reality, right in 2025, we don't need to go with the family unit set of beliefs. We can go against the grain and still thrive, still survive. Not only survive, but thrive. And at this point, right in 2025, a big part of our purpose is to embody the full expression of who we are, to allow the full expression of who we are to come online, to come into this, or to be expressed here through the work that we do, through the values that we hold, through how we are showing up, to how we are showing up. So if you want to go a certain way, you want to do something and your family thinks you're crazy, right, it's your decision. It's your responsibility to say yes to yourself, to your authentic power state. That's another concept that we go through in the Magnetic Leadership Accelerator Understanding your authentic power state, and it simply means being true to you, being true to you and what you want and your desires and understanding that you have these desires for a reason, and it's trusting that, having faith that what you are desiring is desiring you too, that it's available for you, and your job is simply saying yes to it and showing up every day in that energy of belief, consistency of belief, and taking actions, inspired actions, and you will get to where you want to go. And it's really not about you getting anywhere. It's about you aligning to that frequency.

Speaker 2:

So, again, to wrap it up, these are the things that I never say, because they're just based in limitations and holding us at a very contracted state, keeping us smaller than we are here to be. I never say I can't afford it. I never say I can't, I never say it's too hard, I never say it will take too long and I never say, oh, someone else doesn't want me to, so it won't, or I'm afraid that someone will judge me. So if you use these statements, that's okay, but it's about challenging them in the moment. Is this actually true? Is this actually true? Is this a truth that I want to live by? Or can I see it just as a, as a limitation, just as a part of me is trying to protect myself? Right, limitations. There's a part of you that wants to believe the limitation because it's trying to protect yourself.

Speaker 2:

And now I can see that this is my opportunity to lean into trust and to faith and know that I am here to create and expand. And my external world will always mirror back what is happening internally. So if I want to change something externally, I first need to make those changes internally. Leader, I appreciate you. I love you. Thank you for being here.
